Rose Busto

Rose

Rose has been practicing yoga since she was a teenager and teaching it for the last 30 years. Her status as a Chartered Yoga Alliance Instructor entitles her to teach internationally and she is a Teaching Member of the prestigious British Wheel of Yoga, the industry’s governing body and “gold standard” for yoga instructors in Britain.

Her personal practice is rooted in Ashtanga Yoga which she is certified to teach by David Swenson. A veteran of the London and New York Marathons and of several ultras culminating in the successful completion of the Marathon des Sables, a 150-mile self-sufficient staged race in the Sahara Desert, she is also a certified Yoga for Runners Instructor, having undergone teacher training with veteran Canadian marathon runner and yoga instructor, Christine Felstead.

She currently teaches yoga in West London to group and corporate clients and holds one-to-one sessions in her private UltraYoga studio as well as presenting regular workshops and organising and running yoga retreats.

Her interest in yoga, however, goes beyond the physical. In 2015 she was awarded a Master of Arts degree with Distinction in Traditions of Yoga and Meditation by SOAS, the University of London’s specialist School of Oriental and African Studies. She continues to develop her interest in all aspects of yoga by regularly attending courses and workshops and is currently enrolled on a Ph.D. programme which explores how the physical and mental challenges the practice of this ancient discipline have been adapted and re-interpreted for the modern world.
